A to Z Survey! :)

survey

Okay, so… I have this thing for surveys (as apparently do most book lovers!). Now it happens to be that Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner has come up with this absolutely cute and bookish survey I just couldn’t help to participate in! You can check out her original post right here and join in if you’d like!

Author you’ve read the most books from:

Surprise, Surprise! That would be Jane Austen for me. I have read all her novels and then reread them again and again (Quick fact you didn’t know about me: I even have her books in multiple editions)

Best Sequel Ever:

There are lots of good sequels, but I think I Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi was one of my favourites. I loved Shatter Me! It’s one of my favourite books, but then Unravel Me made me love it even more (While I thought that wasn’t possible anymore!).

Currently Reading:

That’s an easy one! I’m currently reading two books, both titles up for review from NetGalley, the first one is Wild Cards by Simone Elkeles and the second one is a republication The Bane by Keary Taylor (formerly titled as Eden).

Drink of Choice While Reading:

Oh! I have this thing, in the morning I always drink coffee while reading (or sometimes Tea). Then in the afternoon I drink Tea, I love drinking tea while reading! There’s something really relaxing about it. However, on the weekends in the evening I do enjoy a glass of wine while reading. Just sitting on the couch with a blanket, reading, while sipping a glass of wine. That’s my happy place!

E-reader or Physical Book?

I love Physical books above all! I just love turning the pages and smelling that typical book smell. However, when I go on vacation, I don’t mind that I have an E-reader with me at all! If I didn’t have an E-reader there’s no way I would be able to take with me all the books I want!

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:

That would probably be Simon from Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones… A bit nerdy, considerate and loyal.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:

I am so glad that I gave the Under the Never Sky a chance, I bought it and then didn’t read it for the longest time! When I did I could’ve slapped myself in the face, I mean how couldn’t I have read this before, I loved it!

Hidden Gem Book:

The Healing Heart by Jennifer Howard! It was such a sweet read and it deserves much more attention in my opinion!

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

Probably when I first read Harry Potter, it made me the book nerd I am today. I loved this book and whenever the other books in this series were released I would collect all the money I had (and as a little kid, that wasn’t much!) and went to the bookstore with my mom to buy it. I think that was the moment I fell in love with reading!

The second important moment would be when I started IB classes. It was then that I found out how much more I was capable of! There’s so much more to just reading a book and it was those classes, as well as my Higher Level IB diploma, that made me realise it!

Just Finished:

I just finished reading The Returned by Jason Mott.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

Honestly, there’s not much books I don’t read… I don’t really care about the genre, when a synopsis sound interesting I’ll read it! Or when it has a pretty cover (I’m such a sucker for beautiful covers!).

Longest Book You’ve Read:

Apparently this is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. It has 767 pages.

Major book hangover because of:

There’s quite a few actually! But the ones I remember best are Divergent by Veronica Roth, Partials by Dan Wells and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.

Number of Bookcases You Own:

I’m the proud owner of 10 bookcases! Aside from those (I desperately need to buy some more) I have stacks of books aside from the bookcases, cause they don’t fit in there anymore! (*Horror!*)

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

I have read Harry Potter over and over again (Still do occasionally). Also The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, and (yes I know… ) I have read Twilight countless of times back in the days.

Preferred Place To Read:

Although I can read absolutely anywhere, I prefer my bed above all! ;)

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

*Grabs my little black notebook that holds all my favourite quotes*

“It’s our choices that show what we are, far more than our abilities” – Harry Potter

“I know that life isn’t life if you just float through it. I know that the whole point – the only point – is to find the things that matter, and hold on to them, and fight for them, and refuse to let them go” – Delirium

And the last one, pinkie-swear:

“Hate looks just like everybody else until it smiles. Until it spins around and lies with lips and teeth carved into the semblance of something too passive to punch” – Shatter Me

Reading Regret:

I don’t really have regrets regarding reading, because they taught me so much… Although, there’s been a time that the only reason I read was to forget my own troubles, that I do regret, hiding behind books is not the way to live your life! Face your troubles head on and enjoy reading for reading!

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I have all of them at home, but so far I’ve only read the first three… two more to go!

Also… the Unearthly Trilogy by Cynthia Hand, as well as The Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater, both of those I have only read the first book…

Seriously people I know I need to finish those, but THERE’S JUST SO MANY GOOD BOOKS! *cries and pats myself on the shoulder*

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

First of all, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! I am such a big fan of all of her books but this one… Swoon! Then I think I’d go for Divergent by Veronica Roth, cause seriously people this book is just bad-ass all the way! Then probably Shatter Me by

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

Them books being made into movies! Especially my favourite books. Every Harry Potter movie, I’ll admit that without any shame that I fangirl, big time! The Mortal Instruments; City of Bones? Yup. Divergent? Can’t wait! *Squeal!!*

As well as books I’ve been dying to read, when I get an ARC or when it’s released and I finally have the opportunity to read? No seriously, I do crazy happy dance moves! Oh and not to forget, when my favourite author (re)tweets me there’ll be some squealing involved as well.

I can only imagine meeting one of them! I’d like to think I’ll be all cool and stuff but that probably won’t be the case and I’ll probably hyperventilate haha. Unfortunately, I haven’t met any yet (blame it on living in the Netherlands…)

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:

Allegiant! I can’t wait to get my hands on the third and last instalment of the Divergent trilogy!

Worst Bookish Habit:

I’m literally oblivious to anything happening around me while reading… No kidding, everything around me could go up in fire and I wouldn’t notice! Well, maybe I would notice the smell, but still you get what I mean ;)

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham.

Your latest book purchase:

Reboot by Amy Tintera and Taken by Erin Bowman.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, sleep was not a possibility until I finished reading that book!

I basically adore your answers! Jane Austen is the best! (I’ve read P&P, S&S, and am currently reading Persuasion. Next up is Emma in time for the next LBD series!) Physical books are the best, though e-readers can be handy. Simon is great- his sweet nerdiness makes him a million times better than Jace, haha. I need to read the other 3 TMI books, too. (But the ending of the third book would have worked so well for the series…)

Aww! I adore Simon! Though I think I developed a soft spot for Jace’s cockiness … haha.
You’re so right about the ending. I think that’s part of the reason why I have yet to start the fourth book…
We should read it at the same time, so we can discuss it together, and blog about it together! That would be fun! :)
