October Homework Month | Monthly Recap

What Happened this Month?

The amount of posts is a new record for me. I feel like I have been growing so much as a blogger the past few months! Lots of firsts, my first time participating in promotional work (Blog Tour, Teaser, the Unbreathable Street team), my first time doing a giveaway, and my first time writing Top Ten Tuesday Posts! The amount of times I post has shot up and I’m much more active on Twitter.

I’m having so much fun, and I love the blogging community. I get to talk books with so many awesome people, and I actually have (had) contact with some of my favourite authors. I just want to give a shout-out to some people that I really now consider my friends and really hope to meet them in the future.

First of all, I want to mention Tiffini Hunt. I first contacted her through her website, asking to purchase a signed copy of her book. Who knew, that such an innocent question would lead to lots of emails, and Twitter conversations.  She’s such a great person and I really love talking with her, if you don’t follow her, you really should! I did buy her book, beautifully signed! What she wrote really touched me, and while I still haven’t gotten around to finish reading it, I look forward to much more awesome conversations!

The second person I want to give a shout-out to is Emily. I met her through Twitter when she was looking for a co-blogger. I responded, and we talked a lot. I became her co-blogger, and post reviews on her blog every now and then. We both have our own lives, but we both randomly contact each other about book related news, news paired with lots of shouty capital letters. Emily is a sweetheart and definitely deserves a follow (also she’s quite a talented writer!)

I am feeling so sad that I haven’t had much time to post this last week of October. My Test-Week is coming up and I’m busy studying, which doesn’t leave much time to read. I do read though, every day half an hour before I go to bed (because, really, what booknerd can go without reading?).

I hope that after my test week, there’ll be lots of new firsts for November as well. A little sneak peek for November: I will be posting about my first bookish event (actually in the Netherlands, no less), I will be attending A Night with Lauren Kate!

Top 2 Books I’ve Read this Month

allegiant-copy

starsI loved Where the Stars Still Shine! This was such a good read, that I’d recommend to anyone. I received an ARC from Rachel (Hello-chelly) and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. It was a great read!

Do I even have to explain Allegiant to you? I think lots of people have been dying to read the last book in the Divergent Trilogy. It was way different than I expected it to be (though what I expected I haven’t quite figured out yet myself) but it was soooo good. All those feels rush through me whenever I think back to reading this book. *sigh*

If you wish you can check out my reviews of those book by clicking on the following links:

2. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Quote of the Month

“Hope blooms on the surface of my sadness. It’s improbable that our relationship will survive the time and distance. Except improbable is not impossible. There are so many maybes in life, but sometimes you just have to put your faith in possibility.”

-Trish Doller, Where the Stars Still Shine.
