The One by Kiera Cass | Book Review

After the Elite I couldn’t wait to read the One, then somehow after a long year of waiting, the book arrived on my doorstep and remained unread for almost two whole months! Which -if I do say so myself- is unacceptable. I think the hype surrounding the book scared me off. I avoided spoilers (which meant avoiding Twitter and Facebook for a while) and ended up not reading the book myself, until now. The story flowed perfectly. Questions that I carried with me since the first book finally got answered. It was fast-paced, action filled, swoon worthy, and at times heart wrenching. The Elite by Kiera Cass | Book Review

I’m just gonna say this first: WOMAN! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! PICK MAXON ALREADY! Now we’ve gotten this out of the way I can continue with the actual review. This book had me on an emotional roller-coaster ride (as if the sentence above isn’t proof enough of that). The Elite was mostly what I thought is was going to be: romantic, exciting, but I think most of all conflicting and confusing. I still think the entire Selection itself is kind of ridiculous. I mean girls competing for a guy’s heart? That’s a bit sick… You shouldn’t have to compete with other girls for a guys heart. To tell you the truth, I usually don’t go for books like The Selection, the whole princess thing going on didn’t really appeal to me. So imagine my surprise when my best friend gave me this book for my birthday. I dare say she knows me well, so I started reading it.
