Second Blogaversary!

I can hardly believe it myself, but I checked the calendar and it IS true. Today it is 2 years ago that I posted my first review on this blog. My blog is TWO years old. And that calls for a celebration, a BIG celebration.

Anna Excited GIF

I’m trying to be all cool, calm, and collected about this… and failing miserably #Fangirling

Because I have been so extremely busy with my study I didn’t even realize my Blogaversary was coming up until a short month ago. Which, unfortunately, left me with a bit of a short time span to work with. I sent emails, tweets, and called in the help of a few friends. And surprise surprise, with the help of some awesome and generous people I managed to put together a giveaway. Which again is the proof that I have had the pleasure to get to know some really wonderful people through blogging.

Now, before I get to the good stuff (aka the giveaway), it’s time for a little sentiment. There were a few moments that I thought I wouldn’t be able to keep blogging. Things got busy at university, and I was literally posting only once every month. So not cool. But encouragement from the book blogging community pushed me to keep going, you kept me going and told me repeatedly not to feel bad about blogging less, and that made me want to do better. So now, I make a big show of sitting down at least one evening EVERY week and just write (tea, snacks, and a cuddly warm blanket to wrap myself into).

Thank you for your support. Because while I may not always have the time to visit all of your blogs and comment, I appreciate every single one of you SO MUCH.

So let’s get to the good stuff. This is what’s going to happen. Throughout March I’ll post multiple giveaways online. I’m talking swag giveaways, ARC giveaways, a precious signed book, and I’ll end things with a bang with a little something special. The last one will be a surprise, but I’ll give you a little hint: It’ll be a double celebration (and therefore double the fun).

First giveaway

Up for grabs: 10 Ensnared Proofs! (A BIG thank you to Abrams & Chronicle Books for their help!)

What do you have to do: I wanted to do things a bit different this time around. Everyone can earn one entry by commenting on this post. You’re name will land in the big jar I have on my desk, and when the giveaway ends I’ll draw 10 random winners. There’s no specific question you have to answer in order to get an entry, but I thought it would be fun to ask a question anyway (because I want to know your answers, and find some great new titles to put on my TBR)! Question: Who’s your biggest fictional crush, and why?

This giveaway will end April 1st and is International! Good luck!

Thanks for visiting!

Happy blogaversary!! My fictional crush has to be Chaol from the Throne of Glass series. I love that he tries to do the right thing, even if that ‘right thing’ might not be in his best interests.

Ah Chaol. Yeah, I really really like him as well. He’s such a great character and very hard not to like! And I agree, the fact that he always tries to do the best thing is one of his most admirable characteristics. ♡

So, that didn’t go as I wanted to (I pressed the wrong button and I posted the other thing)
So let’s start again: Congratz on the two years! I already said that at the university, but I will say it again ^^
And my crush? How can I pick one person..? So I’m not going to ^^ Here’s my list in a random order:
    – Gabe from The Fairest Beauty. He’s Snowwhite’s prince, but with a nice spin and I like how he just wants to prove himself to his family.
    – Lucien from the Stravangaza series. His character development is amazing throughout the novels and I would love to go with him on a journey through the world from Stravangaza. He was one of my first favorite characters from a novel.
    – David from the Wings series. He just accepts the female protagonist, Laurel, as she is which is incredibly adorable and sweet. He doesn’t try to change her and he doesn’t mind that she isn’t entirely human. I might have added Tamani as well if it hadn’t been for the fact that I don’t always like the way he acts towards Laurel. But David, he’s great.
    – Sam(uel K.) Roth from The Wolves of Mercy Falls. I adore him and if this would have been a ranking I’m pretty sure that he’d be on the top. I fell in love with the books and Sam just captured my heart. I can’t get enough of him. He’s an incredible sweet person (I think I might have a type…) that is quiet but still expresives himself through his songs. He has had a really difficult past (I’m not going to spoil anything in case you haven’t read the books yet and still plan on doing so, if not, you really should! Werewolves in an original, interesting new way!) and yet he still ended up being so sweet and caring.
    – Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. I just really like his character development.
Those are definitely my top 5 crushes I think. And even though it’s not a ranking I do have a favorite out of all five: Sam Roth. Defenitely Sam and the rest is all tied in second place.
I think this is a pretty clear indication as to what I think and who I really, really like (the sweet, caring type apparently, I never knew).
And in case you don’t know a few of these characters and the novels they come from; all those novels are quite lovely to read. Wings, not entirely my favorite, I stopped after the third book (although I’m planning on one day continuing), I prefer the other series above Wings, definitely.

Haha. Kim this is called cheating (but who cares, I would too). I actually have Wings at home (a friend sent it to me as a present, and it’s on my list of books-I-need-to-read-soon). And Sam! I love Sam <3 (as well as Aragorn... but who doesn't?!)

First, a big greeting to Iris from Colombia. Books shorten distances :)

Second, without a doubt, Tris (Beatrice Prior) of the Divergent series is my fictional love of all time. A strong, determined woman and having very clear that we all have a role in the world and one like hers is very important. She drives me crazy hehehehe.

Third, nothing hehehehe, I hope to win and many, thank you very much for making this possible, love books as much or more than me and they are many years for the blog :)

Books do shorten distances indeed! I’m always so surprised to see where my readers come from :) And I think Tris is a great pick!

Congratulations on your 2nd blogaversary!! I have an oldie crush and a newbie crush… My oldie crush is Westly from The Princess Bride by William Goldman… True love never look so good. A man who is willing to die for you is hard to find. And my newbie crush is Tobias “Four” Eaton from the Divergent Trilogy. Besides being totally hot in the movie, he is a man who knows what he wants and with the dauntless skills he has, I am sure he can have it. Plus now that he no longer has Tris, he can be totally devoted to me now. Guess you can say I like nice men acting like bad boys.

    HAPPY 2nd Blogaversary!~
As for my ficitional crush, though soon-to-behusband would ofcourse me more correct,
well, right now I would say Roth from the Dark Elements series.
    Why? that’s an easy one.
For starters the guy brings badass to a whole other level.
Then there is the fact that even though the dude is the new badass- and extremely hot, mind you- he can also be incredibly sweet.
Thirdly, he does not pamper girls. In fact he believes that Layla can take care of herself.
And then there is ofcourse Bambi. Bambi- ooh and Thumper- kinda says it all.

  7. 11/03/2015 / 12:25

    Congratulations on your blogaversary!

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite fictional crush, because I fall right into whatever book I’m currently reading … but one that’s stuck with me long after I finished reading the book is Chase, from SPECTRAL by Shannon Duffy. (I still want to see a sequel with his story!)

  8. 11/03/2015 / 15:35

Congrats on the second blogoversary Iris! :) I can definitely understand how hard it is to blog while at school and having doubts that you’ll be able to continue on. I’m so glad that the community has been able to encourage you and help you stay motivated to stay involved! I really should make my OWN dedicated time to blog like you do. I’m sort of in a funk right now so I definitely need to think of something!

Oh, and my biggest fictional crush? If we just go book-wise, I’m going to say… Carswell Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles. He is so much fun to read about and supposedly super good looking and, as much as he likes to pretend otherwise, I’m pretty sure he has this super big heart that is looking for love. How can I resist?

And can I just say how awesome this giveaway is? Ensnared proofs? I actually haven’t started reading the series but I have copies of Splintered and Unhinged so this would be perfect to complete my collection so I can binge them all. Thanks for the opportunity :)

Congratulations on your 2 year from Italy!
That is a very hard question to answer, I think my biggest fictional crushes are jace herondale from shadowhunters-the mortal instruments, William herondale from shadowhunters-the infernal devices, they’re both so mysterious and that’s probably the reason of my love for them. Last one, but not less important, Tobias from divergent, I absolutely love him because he is so strong and weak at the same time, so he’s not that kind of hero that doesn’t exist in real life.
Thanks for the giveaway chance, best wishes for your blog.

  10. 11/03/2015 / 19:46

Congratulations my friend! I am so excited that you have reached your two years! Time really does fly. I love your giveaway idea. I think I may have to do try it this way sometime. Picking a favorite ficitonal crush is a little hard. Hmm. Trying to figure out who I would choose…..okay I think I got it. I really liked Lucas from Rachel Harris My Not So Super Sweet Life. I think Lucas is one of the sweetest guys ever. I think any girl that has a guy similiar to Lucas definitely got a diamond. Thank you so much for your giveaway. Hopefully I get to talk to you soon.

  11. 13/03/2015 / 15:21

My #1 book boyfriend is definitely Logan from the Mythos Academy series! He is so sweet and protective… He’s got a little bit of the bad boy thing going on as well as the sweet guy. He’s the total package!

    15/03/2015 / 04:41

    Oh the choices.

If I would have to choose one, it would have to be Dhiren from Colleen Houck’s Tiger’s Curse series. With an old time charm that has you swooning every couple pages and the biggest heart ever, he’s definitely an awesome choice!

  13. Natasha
    15/03/2015 / 04:45

So many potential book boyfriends to choose from! The first one that comes to mind for me is Dimitri Belikov from the Vampire Academy series.

    Congratulations on your Blogaversary!

  14. 15/03/2015 / 04:52

Definitely Theodore Finch from All The Bright Places. He’s so confident, yet awkward. And he never minded what everyone thought of him. PLUS he’s hot, unorthodox, and COMPLETELY AMAZING. hehe.

  15. 15/03/2015 / 04:52

Happy blogoversary! It’s hard not to feel the love in the book blogging community when it’s everywhere.

As for my biggest fictional crush, it would have to be Etienne St. Clair. He’s got a British accent, he’s funny, and he’s absolutely the sweetest. What’s not to like?

    15/03/2015 / 04:52

Hi! Thanks for this awesome opportunity, and congrats on the 2 year anniversary!!
Wow. My favorite fictional charector? That’s a tough one…. I guess I’ll have to go with my first love: Dimitri Belikov in vampire academy by Richelle Mead. It was tough to decide, but my others where Augustus Waters, Shane Collins, Adrian Ivashkov, and Alexander Sterling…… My loves

  17. 15/03/2015 / 05:07

Congrats on the two years! My ultimate fictional crush is Gansey from The Raven Cycle. Hejust cares about his friends so much and he seemingly has it all but he’s so lost and IT MAKES MY HEART HURT.

  18. 15/03/2015 / 05:17

Travis from Beautiful Disaster hands down. That boy is all love and sexy smoking hotness.

  19. Esthefania
    15/03/2015 / 14:01

My biggest fictional crush right now is Rowan Whitethorn from the Throne of Glass series. I absolutely love his relationship with Celaena/Aelin, and, come on, he’s a Fae warrior/prince/super hot character, what else can you ask from him?

  20. 15/03/2015 / 18:20

(You don’t have to add my name to the giveaway, I already have an Ensnared proof!) I just wanted to congratulate you on your second blogoversary. It’s so exciting when someone reaches another milestone :D On to 3 years!

  21. 15/03/2015 / 20:21

Congrats on your anniversary! I have never been able to make it to even just a year with a regularly updated blog, no matter how many attempts. As for literary crushes, it’s so weird. I don’t have many! I tend to crush more on the writer or the main character rather than a love interest, moreso because I get to know them so well from being inside their head, so sorry Atticus Finch, even if you do look like Gregory Peck and are of the best of men (you do need more of a sense of humor) or Mr Darcy who is wonderfully awkward and arrogant but good and sexy which I do like in a man. Probably my most recent one would be Johanna from Caitlin Moran’s How to Build a Girl. She’s good and geeky and sweet and sometimes confused but also smart, loyal, fiercely funny and loves her family (and eventually herself) so entirely, that you can’t not find that attractive.

Happy 2nd anniversary! My biggest fictional crush is Ronald Weasley, I love him because he makes everyone laugh and he is cute :)

    Happy blogoversary!!!
My biggest fictional crush is Peeta Mellark. Love how he always put Katniss above everything else and he is sooo sweet!! Plus he’s a baker and nothing beats that!!!

  24. Eline
    30/03/2015 / 11:09

DOMINIC DRAVEN from Afterlife saga. He’s very dominant but sweet for his heroine! He does everything to keep the people he loves save, but he is also a bad boy. The perfect combination haha.

  25. 30/03/2015 / 16:03

    Congratulations! Happy 2nd Blogoversary! *\(^_^)/*

My biggest fictional crush is…. Hermione Granger! Well, as a muggle born, she is perfect for me! Her intelligence can melt my heart. I love the way she spell a charm <3

Thank you and may the odds be ever in our favor!

  26. Samantha
    01/04/2015 / 08:46

This is hard as hell because it’s the basic question where you can’t absolutely just have one answer and you said fictional crush so I’m taking it on my all time favorite TV show called Doctor Who and I’m just gonna say my girl crush because I can’t say any fictional real crush because I just can’t so my fictional girl crush would be Amelia Pond because it’s just the fact that she i truly one absolutely stunning woman as she has all that I ever wish to be, her development as a woman is very strong and I can’t describe it really but I just love her actually and it was really hard to let her go but she will always be in my heart.

  27. 01/04/2015 / 11:20

    Congratulations on your blog anniversary!!
My biggest fictional crush has to be Ridge from Maybe Someday, I just can’t help but love him. He’s done some pretty bad things but in my opinion people still have to be human in a book and still have to have some flaws! I love the way how human this character is!

And btw, a huge thanks for this giveaway!

  28. 01/04/2015 / 14:50

Oh, gosh, this is HARD. I think I’m going to have to go with Prince William from Breeana Puttroff’s Dusk Gate Chronicles. He’s so perfect! He takes good care of his people, and Quinn. I love him and Quinn. <3

  29. Hana Ferguson
    01/04/2015 / 15:43

My biggest fictional crush would definitely have to be Morpheus from the Splintered series (that includes Ensnared)… he is so mysterious and attractive while being kind – hearted, too! :)
