Top Ten Worlds I’d Never Want To Live

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the Broke and Bookish.

I’m sorry for constantly being so late with my posts! I find myself with no spare time to write my Top Ten Tuesday’s in advance, so I tell myself that it’s okay to miss it every once in a while, but then I see the topic and I can’t help myself to write the damn post anyway! Haha, so without much further ado, this weeks Top Ten Tuesday!

 1 not copy2 not copy

The Hunger Games – I am sure I’m not the only one that has this one on their list, because I think we can all agree that the world described in The Hunger Games is extremely freaky. Can you imagine ever having children in a world like that? I would never want to expose my children to that, and I would never want to live with the fear of the Reapings *shudder*

Delirium – As dorky as it might sound, I love Love. I would never want to live in a world without love, or was considered as a disease for that matter. People messing with my brain to take away my ability to love, Hell No! 2 not4 not

Divergent – While I love this series, the idea of different factions and all freaks me out. I don’t like to put people in boxes (aka, factions). I don’t like the idea of a society so divided.

Partials – Babies dying only minutes after they’re born. Living in the fear of extinction, and the fear of Partials invading your home and killing you. While this story is as badass as they can get, there’s no way I would be able to live like that.

5 not 6 not .

1984 – This dystopian shows a society that could have been, if things in the past would have gone differently. Freaky, scary, creepy, I can go on for a long time trying to explain the feelings that pop up thinking about a society like this. Stripped of all freedom, I shudder to think of living while being watched and controlled every step of the way. (not to mention the completely brainwashed and violent children).

Under the Never Sky – While a part of me gets very excited thinking about a world with virtual realities, because lets be honest its pretty awesome, but then there’s the world ‘out there’ where they live in constant danger with the Aether storms and such. Not pleasant… not at all.

7 not 8 not

The Host – Just the thought of something other than myself controlling me, something in my head/ brain. Yuck. Lets never every allow this to become reality okay? (Though Wanda wouldn’t be that bad…)

Shatter Me – If this was the world I live in, lets admit it, it would be pretty sad and scary.

9 not 10 not

Pawn – I don’t want to live in a world ruled by people like in Pawn. The things they do to other people and the way they rule is terrible. Also the way you live is based on ONE test. One test is what decides how you live for the rest of your life. No rematches, nothing to redeem yourself if you have a bad score. Absolutely horrible.

Defy – Rape Houses?! Yeah, never ever EVER!

What World would you NEVER want to live in?

I would never want to live in Panem! Not only because I don’t want to be chosen as a tribute, but also being worried for your loved ones if they are the ones being chosen. Not to mention the horrible world it is in general. Nope, I cannot imagine anyone wanting to live there.
I love Under the Never Sky and it’s one of my favorite series, but no I don’t want to live there either. The aether is horrible, and the cannibals!

The being worried for your loved ones if they are the ones being chosen on Reaping day was my main reason for NEVER EVER WANTING TO LIVE IN PANEM! of course, the whole world in general is super messed up, but Reaping day is just *shudder*

The aether and the cannibals are a definite No-go indeed. I can’t believe I forgot about the Cannibals!

Delirium……………… NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS SERIES IS THE WORST (okay, I’m calming down).

Love your TTT, lots of books that I haven’t read…I’ll have to check them out!

I’m sure there’s quite some you’ll love. Though I remember about the love-triangles haha, which is probably why you didn’t like Delirium.
Do check the books! Some of them you just have to read!

Haha maannnn The Hunger Games and Divergent is DEFINITELY the place where I DON’T belong! It’s super scary to live in a crazy world like that. But I think The Hunger Games is the worst! It would be terrifying to know if you got picked and to have to kill people. That’s just wrong! I’m fine with what the world offers me right now haha. :)

I’m soooo agreeing with what you just said! I’m very happy indeed with the world and what if offers right now… lets just stick with it! haha

I could actually handle living in the Partial world! I mean…I’d probably step on a mine and be killed, but out of all of the ones you’ve mentioned, that’s probably my preference. ;) I would NOT no way like to be in Panem.

LMAO! That’s okay and totally sane Cait! Stepping on a mine and being killed *guffaw*

Nah, I kinda get what you mean there. Probably my preference as well… *winks*

Pawn sounds horribly similar to Divergent, I wouldn’t want to live in a world who decides how I live based on some stupid tests, I’ll pass.

It does sound familiar, though the stories vary very much!
I’ll definitely pass as well ;)

You have so many great picks here! I wouldn’t want to live in any of these. You actually made me think of a few things I’m sad I didn’t add to my list. I haven’t read 1984 yet, but what you said reminded me of the world from Anthem by Ayn Rand. I’m disappointed in myself for not adding that one to my list.

It’s almost scary what kinds of futures and worlds authors can come up with, isn’t it?

Thank you! 1984 is older literature, classics, and those worlds creep me out! I forgot to add some other books as well, like The Handmaids Tale. I really should have added that one an it makes me sad that I didn’t think of it, so I know how you feel!

It really is scary what worlds the authors can come up with. And its even scarier how realistically possible some seem!

So many people put Delirium on their lists and I can’t believe I forgot that one! Gr. You picked great ones, Iris!

      Thank you! *bows* haha

Pretty much ALL dystopian books! Haha! I would NEVER want to live in THG verse.. That would be horrible. I probably wouldn’t survive if I got reaped. No freaking way. Wouldn’t want to live in Divergent either – I hate it how a person’a life is determined just through a single test. I would not want to be factionless.

    Great list! :)

True that! All dystopian books have worlds that I wouldn’t want to live in indeed *such a smart thing to say!*
